An Inspired Teacher's Students Making Incredible Strides

One of the amazing things about visual learning is how it helps students of all ages and abilities achieve at the highest possible levels. I am always particularly inspired when I hear stories about students who are struggling in school and how a talented educator has used our software to support an instructional strategy that results in improved achievement – and, subsequently, enhanced student self esteem and confidence.

Recently I learned about Terri Inwood, a business-education teacher at Crossroads Center, part of the New Beginnings Educational Complex in Kissimmee, Fla. An alternative school in The School District of Osceola County, Crossroads serves "at risk" students with behavioral problems. The students come to Crossroads to get "back on track;" some stay for a semester, others for as long as two years.

Terri has to prepare her middle and high school students to pass the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) and to graduate. She uses Inspiration to teach writing and the results she is seeing are incredible. Her students are now passing the writing on the FCAT and, best of all, she says that they now believe that they can succeed!

You can read more about Terri and her students in a case study on the Inspiration Software Web site. She is one inspired example of so many of you who are using visual learning to make a difference in your student's lives!
